1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Bolt ("the Service"), operated under the Bolt brand by Austin Burk ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
Bolt is a GPS tracking service designed for storm chasers. The Service provides real-time location tracking, mapping, and related features.
3. User Accounts
Access to Bolt requires an invite-only registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.
4. GPS Tracking and Data
By using Bolt, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Your location data will be tracked and stored while the Service is active
- Your location may be visible to other users of the Service
- GPS tracking is inherently not private, and your position data will be shared with other registered users
- The Service may relay your position data to third-party services if you explicitly enable such features
5. Ownership and Copyright
This software is developed by Austin Burk and distributed under the brand name “Bolt.”
6. Limitation of Liability
You agree that:
- Bolt, operated by Austin Burk, is not liable for any data loss, service interruptions, or tracking inaccuracies
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- You use the Service at your own risk
- Bolt, operated by Austin Burk, is not responsible for decisions made based on tracking data provided by the Service
7. Mobile Device Safety Notice
Bolt must not be used while operating a moving vehicle. Users agree to pull over safely before interacting with any features of the software, including maps, radar products, GPS tools, or chase-logging features.
Bolt is provided by Austin Burk, who is not responsible for accidents, injuries, or damages resulting from distracted driving or improper use of the software. Users are responsible for following all traffic laws and emergency-scene regulations at all times.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purposes
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
- Interfere with the proper operation of the Service
- Harass or harm other users of the Service
9. Commercial Use & Licensing
The Service and its data are licensed for personal, hobbyist, and non-commercial use only, unless you purchase a Commercial License subscription.
- Non-Commercial Use: Private, educational, or hobbyist use by individuals where no direct or indirect revenue is generated.
- Commercial Use: Any use of the Service or its data in connection with a business, organization, professional service, or revenue-generating activity. This includes, but is not limited to, media organizations, fleet management, logistics, dispatch systems, or resale/redistribution of data.
- You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, embed, or otherwise make available any data, feeds, or derived works from the Service to third parties without a commercial license.
- Non-commercial users may only store or cache Service data for a limited duration (e.g., 48 hours). Long-term archiving or systematic data collection requires a commercial license.
Commercial licenses are available as a subscription at $40 per month or $400 per year. You may purchase a Commercial License directly through our website. Unauthorized commercial use may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, and retroactive commercial license fees may be assessed.
10. Data Accuracy
While we strive to provide accurate tracking data, we make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of location information. GPS signals can be affected by weather, terrain, and device limitations.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason, including violation of these terms.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
