Organizations & Teams

Create an organization, invite members, and use Bolt's shared organization pages.

Organizations are Bolt's shared-group feature. They let members work from the same organization pages, invite other members, and view organization-scoped data when they have access.

What you get with an organization

  • Shared outings for organization-scoped tracking.
  • Member management with admin and member roles.
  • Organization tabs for overview, members, devices, outings, fuel, mileage, and settings.
  • Broadcast map access when the organization plan includes that entitlement.

Creating an organization

  1. Open your Account page.
  2. Scroll to the Organizations section and select Create Organization.
  3. Give your org a clear name (e.g., "Panhandle Chasers" or "WxResearch Lab").
  4. You'll be the first admin automatically.

Inviting members

Only admins can invite new members. Here's how:

  1. Go to your organization's Members tab.
  2. Click Create Invite.
  3. Choose the role for the new member—Admin or Member.
  4. Copy the invite code and share it privately (it's a one-use code).

The recipient redeems the code on their own Account page to join your org.

Keep invite codes private

Invite codes are sensitive—treat them like passwords. If one leaks, you can always remove the unwanted member and generate a fresh code.

Roles & permissions

Admin
Can invite or remove members, change roles, and manage organization settings that are available in the UI.
Member
Can participate in organization activity and view the pages their access allows, but cannot manage membership or settings.

Every org needs at least one admin. If you're the last admin, you won't be able to leave until you promote someone else.

Organization tabs

  • Overview
  • Members
  • Devices
  • Chases
  • Fuel
  • Mileage
  • Settings

Member limits

The number of members an organization can hold depends on its plan entitlements.

Leaving or removing members

  • Leave: Any member can leave an org from their Account page (unless they're the sole admin).
  • Remove: Admins can remove any member from the Members tab.

Next steps

  • Set up device tracking so your team can see each other on the map.
  • Start an org-scoped outing from the map to share tracking with your whole crew.
  • Configure exclusion zones if members operate near sensitive locations.
