Support
How Bolt support works, what gets prioritized, and what to expect from free and paid account support.
Bolt is operated by Lightning Field Systems as a small independent service. Support is triaged so we can keep the service sustainable, focus on issues that affect safety or access, and continue improving the product.
How to contact support
Email [email protected]. Include the email address on your Bolt account, a short description of what happened, and any relevant screenshots, error messages, device names, or approximate times.
Before writing in, please check the Bolt Reference for setup and troubleshooting guidance. If service-status information is posted elsewhere in the app or on official Bolt channels, check that too before sending a duplicate report.
Support for free accounts
Free accounts are welcome in Bolt. Free-account support is documentation-based and best-effort, which means we may use your message to improve docs, fix common problems, or group similar reports rather than reply individually.
Direct email support is not guaranteed for free accounts, and some free-account messages may not receive an individual reply.
Support for paid accounts
Paid accounts receive prioritized email support. That means paid-account messages are reviewed ahead of ordinary free-account questions when support capacity is limited.
Prioritized support is not a promise of a specific response time unless a support tier shown elsewhere in Bolt explicitly says so.
Issues we prioritize for everyone
Some issues should be sent in regardless of account type. We prioritize reports involving:
- Security vulnerabilities
- Abuse or safety reports
- Privacy concerns
- Billing problems
- Account-access problems
- Major service issues
If one of these applies, email [email protected] and make the subject line clear.
Feature requests and bug reports
Feature requests and ordinary bug reports are welcome. We read them, but they may be reviewed in batches, grouped with similar feedback, or used to guide future work instead of receiving an individual answer.
For bug reports, include what you expected to happen, what actually happened, the page or feature involved, and whether you can reproduce it.
Severe weather and emergency situations
Bolt is not an emergency service, warning system, dispatch service, or substitute for official National Weather Service alerts, public safety instructions, or professional judgment.
Do not rely on support email for urgent weather, safety, or emergency situations. Support email is not monitored as an emergency channel and should not be used when immediate action is needed.
In hazardous conditions, use official weather sources, follow public safety instructions, and contact emergency services when appropriate.
As Bolt grows
These expectations may change as Bolt grows. If support options or account benefits change, we will update this page to reflect how support is handled.
